It offers both wireless 3G/4G WAN connectivity and wired Ethernet connectivity. The Wi-Fi has a range up to 750 feet and external Wi-Fi antennas are available. The router has five Ethernet ports comprised of four Local Area Network (LAN) ports and one Wide Area Network (WAN) port. Various form factors are supported with compatible modems, including three USBs and two ExpressCard slots. The MBR1400 router has plug-and-play facilities to support over 120 broadband data modems. The Cradlepoint ARC MBR1400 series router is designed for network architectures that are PCI compliant and is specifically engineered for continuous Internet connectivity, 24 hours per day for seven days a week. The advanced Wi-Fi encryption, VLAN capabilities, and LAN segmentation protect the LAN connections. There are up to 20 concurrent VPN endpoint sessions. The flexibility of this Cradlepoint MBR1400 router means that you can have a primary connection from the integrated 3G/4G Wi-Fi modem or use it as a failover in the case of a disrupted wired connection. In the event that failover occurs, you receive a proactive alert via the Enterprise Cloud Manager (ECM). When a disruption occurs with wired WAN, there is automatic failover to a wireless WAN connection. When this wired WAN connection has been restored, there is automatic failback.
