Cisco VIC-2FXO is a RJ-11 hardware interface that can simulate an FXS on a router/ network switch. With its RJ-11 ports, this Cisco voice interface card can be employed to interface telephone voice or other audio-based FXS devices. The RJ-11 hardware interface has two-voice ports enabling connections to simple telephone service (POTS), equipment, keysets, and PBXes. The Cisco VIC-2FXO is to be installed at the connection�s switch end, allowing you to plug it directly into the line side so that the switch interprets the FXO interface as a telephone. The Cisco voice interface card comes with Cisco IOS software that enables efficient transport of voice over IP and Frame Relay networks. The Cisco VIC-2FXO supports loop start for improved operability.
