Product Information
The instruction manual for Captain Silver says the game has six levels, but it only has four. Worse, the levels are short and all too easy to get through, as the bosses (which are quite large) and a few tricky jumps offer the game's only real challenges. Wielding a cutlass sword, players undertake a quest for buried treasure while warding off strangely ineffectual pirates and other enemies. Special items (such as keys for opening doors and boots for special jumping abilities) appear plentifully throughout, so there's not much reason to go to the trouble of purchasing them in the shop. Uninspired graphics, repetitious music and a sluggish hero add to the "fun." Captain Silver is a passable game for beginners, but most players should stick to Castlevania for the NES. <!--Book-->Product Identifiers
