However, RAW format maintains a very high image quality through storing more information. Canon’s proprietary RAW images in CR2 format uses lossless compression to record 12 bits per pixel and provide more detail and contrast in image resolution. You can use Canon software on your computer to generate JPEGs from your RAW images.The Canon 20D DSLR body was built to last.
