Two Presidents and Two Prime Ministers of India wrote Forewords of this historic book, which was officially released in New Delhi on 24 Nov 1968 by then President of India Dr Zakir Hussain, ackwledging the pioneering literary work of Principal Deka and his associates. After half a century, Er. Arnab Jan Deka recovered the only surviving copy of this priceless book and republished it after thorough editing.

Author BiographyPrincipal Bhabananda Deka(1929-2006) was the pioneer Assam Economist & a leading Litterateur of the classic Awahon-Ramdhenu Era of Assamese literature. He authored a total 115 (one hundred fifteen) scholarly books in English & Assamese languages on varied subjects including ancient Assamese literature, economics, heritage, archaeology, philosophy, political science, education, civics, mythology, poetry, drama, biographical study and literary translations. His English prose translation of the timeless Assamese classic Kirtan Ghosa of Srimanta Sankardev was his literary swan song completed just before his eventual death on 4 Dec 2006. He was instrumental in establishing Assamese Departments in Indian Constitutional body Union Public Service Commission & Delhi University in 1968-69. He was the former Principal of six post-graduate level institutions in Assam including Pragjyotish College in Guwahati, Bapuji College in Sarthebari and Tamulichilga College near Jorhat, and was the only Assamese senior officer in UPSC. Other 3 co-authors were his juniors and associates in New Delhi in 1968.
