It has 120 volts AC/DC inputs in addition to a 195 milliampere backplane current load. A delay time jumper is another feature, allowing you to select between 5 milliseconds and 20 milliseconds for the prevention of detecting false inputs. This module is compatible with most other Allen-Bradley products, save for the 1771-A1, 1771-A2, and 1771-A4. The Allen-Bradely 1771-IAD PLC series input module receives its power through the 1771 I/O chassis backplane from the chassis power supply. The module requires 195 milliamperes from the output of this supply. Make sure to add this to the requirements of all other modules in the I/O chassis to prevent overloading the chassis backplane and/or chassis power supply. This 120-volt 1771-IAD input module may be connected to your copyright I/O devices via the field wiring arm that is included with the module. The 120-volt 1771-IAD PLC series input module from Allen-Bradley features signal indicator lights on the front panel which allow you to easily monitor all processes. The front panel of this module contains one green module active indicator, and 16 red status indicators. When the green module active indicator lights, the rack power supply has properly established 5 volts DC, and this indicator must be lit to properly interpret the red status indicators. The red status indicators are provided for system logic side indication of individual inputs. When a red indicator lights, voltage is present on the terminal. The module transfers this information to the backplane for the processor to read. The 1771-IAD PLC series input module features a nominal input current of 9.9 milliampere at 120 volts AC 60 hertz; 8.7 milliamperes at 120 volts AC 50 hertz; and 2.56 milliamperes at 125 volts DC. The unit sports a maximum power dissipation of 8.8 watts and a minimum of 1.0 watts. This device offers a minimum thermal dissipation of 3.42 BTU per hour and a maximum of 30.1 BTU per hour.
