Air Warrior III is an air combat flight simulator that contains over 450 missions. Action is real-time and play supports both solitaire and multi-player modes (up to 250 players in the same mission via Internet) as well as live real-time user speech online. The package includes all the missions from the previous title, Air Warrior II, plus an additional six new campaigns (four over the Pacific), 3Dfx acceleration support, four new Pacific theater aircraft (Oscar, Val, Kate, and Zeke), enhanced AI, and reworked landscapes and aircraft exteriors.<br><br>The interface includes support for mouse, keyboard/keypad, and joystick input with various throttles and rudder pedal control options as well. A limited version of the mission editor used at Kesmai Studios is included with the game which allows you to create single mission scenarios and even mission briefings for use in the online multi-player environment.<br><br>The program is geared toward veteran gamers although newcomers can benefit from several customizable "checkride" options designed for feeling out the various aircraft characteristics and learning flight controls. Air Warrior III missions focus on several air war theaters from World War I through the Korean conflict with user choice of aircraft and forces (German, Japanese, Great Britain, Allied, Axis, United Nations, or North Korean).
