The ASUSTeK NodusM3 version A8M2N-LA AMD CPU motherboard is one of the best options for putting together a very affordable rig that still performs well with basic computing tasks. Originally a proprietary motherboard for the HP Pavilion and Compaq desktop series, the A8M2N-LA has an AM2 socket that supports several AMD CPU versions: the Athlon 64, Athlon 64 X2 and Sempron processor series. This ASUSTeK motherboard supports AMD multi-core processor types with a 64-bit architecture, which means that a desktop with this hardware should be able to handle typical computer functions. These include running Microsoft Office applications, Windows 7, and internet browsing with relative ease. Just like other motherboards in the same generation, the A8M2N-LA AMD motherboard accommodates DDR2 DIMM memory modules with four 240-pin sockets. These RAM slots support PC 4200 (533 MHz) and PC2 5300 (667MHz) DDR2 DIMMs for a maximum of four or more gigabytes of random access memory. The BIOS features include an Award brand BIOS Keyboard system and users only need to enter the BIOS settings by pressing F1.
