The low-power features of the AMD Opteron 252 include PowerNow!, halt mode, and stop grant mode. The on-chip peripherals of the tray microprocessor utilises HyperTransport technology, and it comprises three 16-bit links (up to 1 GHz each) and a built-in dual-channel DDR SDRAM memory controller. The AMD processor comes equipped with one core as well as one thread.
