The latest in a series of industry-leading, high-performance backup solutions, the TD-20001 also features onboard hardware compression and a superior read-while-write technology, allowing one-pass write and verification. Available with a Fast SCSI-2 interface, this tape drive puts 20 GB of compressed data (2:1 compression ratio) on a single tape. It has five data transfer rates that allow the drive to adapt to system conditions and accept the most efficient data transfer rates from the host. Of course, because it's from AIWA, you know you can count on it being rugged and reliable. With tape speeds as high as 112.8 inches per second, AIWA's unique thermal management technology provides internal heat sensors to cue the drive to adapt to system conditions and operate at optimal speed. And the MTBF is an amazing 200,000 hours.
