I wanted to taint some biking gloves, but the thing is, they are supposed to be immersed in a near-boiling "soup", but synthetics don't allow such high temperatures. I did it at a lower temperature so as not to ruin them, and they just became darker. With each wash I also think they are becoming lighter again. This does taint the fibers and the rubber parts equally, but also insufficiently, depending on what you are aiming for.
