I reached out to the seller and they told me customs (during shipping) is where it was damaged and were fairly dismissive about doing anything until I opened up a return with eBay. After that they provided a full refund and told me to keep the item. Overall I'm pretty happy how things worked out, but they could improve on customer interaction with shipment issues.
