The powder looks like it does in the picture, tried a very tiny piece of the residue that fell on my counter when putting it in another container. No bigger than half a grain of granulated sugar, id say the spiciness of that small peice is almost at the level of normal housold black/white pepper after letting it sit in my mouth for a minute or 2. Great value for amount recived
