At first I wasn’t happy about it but I’m now glad it was screw in because i can use it on other lenses with step adapters. It is high quality and fit great. It is a three piece hood with a step up ring, then the hood that screws on to that and then a push on metal hood cap. Lines up perfectly horizontal when tightened on my lens so tolerances are precise. I am happy with it.
