Synopsis
From housewife to humorist, the late-great Phyllis Diller has been making millions laugh for five decades with her groundbreaking comedy. Now the laughter continues with her uproarious autobiography. "Like a Lampshade in a Whorehouse" recounts how, against all odds, Phyllis Diller became Americas first successful and best-loved female stand-up comic. She began her professional career at age thirty-seven, in spite of the fact that she was a housewife and mother of five, and was working at a radio station because of her husbands chronic unemployment. Now, fifty years later, after two traumatic marriages, extensive cosmetic surgery, numerous film, television, and stage appearances, and separate careers as an artist and piano soloist with symphony orchestras, Phyllis Diller finally tells her story. With her trademark laugh, self-deprecating humor, and incredible wit, Phyllis Diller has etched her way into comedic history. And while her wild hair and outrageous clothes may make her look like a lampshade in a whorehouse, her strength, self-belief, perseverance, and raucous sense of humor make her truly unforgettable., From housewife to humorist, the late-great Phyllis Diller has been making millions laugh for five decades with her groundbreaking comedy. Receiving the Jimi Hendrix book from these guys was a real treat... and it's exactly why I'm taking the time to write a very POSITIVE review of my experience with Janine and James at AJM Zeke. The book was actrually better than advertised-- very rare in doing business online these days. The shipping of the item was packaged tight and neat and the price was great for original notes with the book. All in all, I highly recommend them!

This item is hard to find. I have one and use it constantly. It’s for my daughter who is setting up her apartment and I wanted her to have the best. There are many of these out there but few actually do the job. This is a tremendous value. It’s in brand new condition with tags, as described. Well packed in bubble wrap with not a scratch on it. Shipping was as good as you can expect from the USPS these days. I give this Ebayer five stars. I’m very happy with every aspect of my purchase.

Arrived quickly and in good 'as described' condition. Thanks to the sellers' attention to packaging, the book was saved from getting wet as the USPS left the box in the rain. Inside packing material was wet, but the antique book was dry due to the protective plastic bubble wrap. First rate transaction, THANKS!
