Prepare to boldly go where no gamer has gone before with Bethesda Softworks� STAR TREK: TACTICAL ASSAULT for the PSP. The game spans the STAR TREK timeline and features many familiar alien races and starships. The game includes both a campaign mode and the quick battle skirmish mode. Players take control of starships in the 30 different missions Tactical Assault includes. These missions are split into two campaigns, one for the Federation and one for the Klingon Empire. The game takes place during the span of years surrounding the original STAR TREK movies (The Motion Picture through The Undiscovered Country). Gamers will control every function of their starship, including attacking, raising shields, scanning planets, and hailing other ships and starbases. In combat, players can really get into the tactical part of the game. The enemy�s ship statistics are shown on several different screens, and players can use this data to decide which area of the other ship to target. If the battle starts going bad, players can reroute power to their shields from other systems or hail a friendly ship to come help them, if one is nearby. Winning battles nets players promotion points, which they can distribute among their crew. Promoting crew members makes them better at their job, which results in an upgraded ship. While the PSP version of STAR TREK: TACTICAL ASSAULT doesn�t have the touch screen controls like the DS version, it does include wi-fi multiplayer mode and great graphics.
