Water can be heated to "scalding hot". I have it turned down for hand washing and shaving with no mixing. No temperature indicator so "trial and error" to find the setting you prefer. I'll mark my spot on the dial. No water out of the PRV hose - so far. I purchased the 3 year warranty -- just in case.
