About this product
Product Information
The classic board game of buying and selling makes its Nintendo 64 debut with three play modes: standard, short, and timed. The standard game follows traditional Monopoly rules, with the object being to bankrupt your opponents. You start with $1,500 is cash to purchase and develop properties. The more improvements you make, the more rent you can charge when rivals land on your property spaces.

A short game begins with each player randomly assigned three properties. Only three houses are needed on a property before a hotel can be built, and the game ends when one player goes bankrupt. Of the remaining players, the one with the most assets wins the game. Timed games feature a player-imposed limit of 15, 30, 45, or 60 minutes. Players take turns until the timer expires. The person with the most money and property at the end of the allotted time is considered the winner.

Before each game, you can decide whether to include a free parking bonus, rent to jailed players, an even building rule, or if players should travel around the board before buying property. Games can also be set up to include auctions, rent immunity trades, and custom starting property assignments. Monopoly supports up to four human or computer opponents in any game mode. The computer AI can be set to the following four personalities: cautious, bold, normal, or intelligent.
