Only the ends of the package were wrapped in plastic leaving the rest of the poles exposed. I wish the entire group of bamboo was encased in the plastic to better protect them. But they seemed to make it without much damage. Only a few minor scrapes. Overall, I'm happy with the order as shipping was fairly fast and the price was best I could find.
