Das Spiel der Hoffnung - The Game of Hope - Le jeu de l'espoir Dieses Spiel wurde von Johann Kaspar Hechtel erdacht und 1799 in Nürnberg veröffentlicht. Es war ein Gesellschaftsspiel und unter dem Namen Spiel der Hoffnung bekannt, da gewonnen hatte, wer als Erster die Nummer 35, Anker / Hoffnung erreichte. In diesem Spiel sind bereits alle 36 Motive (der Reiter, das Schiff, das Haus, der Ring usw.) der späteren Lenormandkarten vorhanden. Die ersten Lenormand-Orakelkarten erscheinen um 1846 in Koblenz. Aber auch das Original von 1799 enthielt schon eine Anleitung, die das Orakeln mit den Karten erklärt. Diese 36 Karten in Faltschachtel, 5,9 x 9,1 cm, sind ein Reprint des Originals von 1799, das Begleitheft enthält sowohl die originale als auch eine heutige Anleitung zum Legen der Karten und beleuchtet die historischen Hintergründe.
