I suspect the wool has probably shrunk over the years. It's so tight I can't really even wear it, and my hat size is actually a 7 1/8. It also looked a lot better in the auction pictures than it did in person. The hat was nowhere near the value that I paid for it with the included shipping. Very disappointed with this purchase, but I can only blame myself at this point.
