No tappering. They fit better where I use them & store empties. I'm hoping the acrylic doesn't crack & lids stay airtight. Other brands seem to crack & lids stop keeping the containers airtight sooner than expected. Brands with spring loaded lid fill with water when cleaned. If they come apart, forget it. You'd need to be a patient rocket scientist to reassemble.
