Certainly very useful if like me you are not very good at carpentry but don't buy lengths of 4x2 timber while waiting for the brackets to arrive because the brackets measure 89mm x 39mm and not 100 x 47. When erect the brackets can be screwed to the legs, however, instead of screwing the jaws to the cross member I simply let the teeth of the jaws hold it and then when it's not in use it simply folds away using less space than 2 erect sawhorses.
