Note to readers: This novel was originally published as Black Sword, but it has been significantly rewritten and revised because of the brutal nature of the original opening chapters. Given the circumstances at the time and at the period in history, brutality towards women was considered conquest and victory. Understanding and forgiveness are still a key element of this novel, but be advised that the traumatic abuse of the original opening has been removed or softened for contemporary audiences.
