Very sturdy. I have other ankle straps, and they were unlocking when I pull too hard on the band. Then, the rubber band flew back to the door and made a hole in it. With this strap, it is impossible. You have to wear shoes with this one as it is very harsh on your ankle, but at least it will not unlock on you and damage your furniture or door. I just bought the second piece.
