Mine arrived square to the mount, so no shimming needed. The rotating back is push-button activated and has stops every 15 degrees. The shift function is a little fiddly to get precise movements, but it works as well as any shift adapter I've owned from Kipon and other companies. It also has a ring to adjust the aperture on G lenses.
