It has a wide base so flame from small and medium gas burner stay under the kettle rather than go up the sides. Easy to clean and after a few weeks good use, not leaking. Whistle is quite loud and easy to open and close. The handle in the middle this is the place the plastic and the metal meet, so take care when lifting the kettle i use oven gloves as it's heavy and hot when full. I say the max fill line is at the base of the spout. I make that 2.6L.
