Item description from the seller
Seller feedback (2,841)
- b***2 (137)- Feedback left by buyer.Past monthVerified purchaseRachmaninov hated this work. The first performance was a disaster. Rachmaninov was so horrified by the he fled the hall. He developed PTSD didn’t compose anything for several years and actually burned the manuscript. Russian scientists reconstructed the work from the orchestral parts and it’s presented here by the best Rachmaninov interpreters; the Philadelphia Orchestra and Eugene Ormandy. A great recording sent on time by a great seller!
