She worked with the greatest fashion photographers of her time, including Richard Avedon, Fernand Fonssagrives, Horst P. Horst, Irving Penn, Georges Platt-Lynes and John Rawlings. She was, according to Alexander Liberman, the former artistic director of Vogue , the subject of the magazine's greatest photographs. Fashion Icon displays around 150 original vintage prints from her personal collection. Some of these images have never before been published, including a large number of photographs by Fernand Fonssagrives, her first husband, and more private portraits taken by Irving Penn.
