In terms of field trips I went to a rather progressive grammar school, which involved industrial archeology. We visited the then recently closed Park Lane Goods Station towards the end of 1972. It was absolutely fascinating , soaking up the long history of the place and it being so close to Wapping Tunnel. Many thanks for evincing happy memories.
