The crimp lugs that I use were mostly 1/0 and 2. It seems like I had to use the smaller crimp heads on 1/0 cable to get it to crimp down successfully. This left me with somewhat of a malformed crimp terminal as it tended to over compress it. The two gauge and 4 gauge wires did better so it was likely something in the crimp terminals causing my issue.
