The seller sent a video link on request. Unfortunately, the video did not help. Ultimately, we could not figure out a purpose for the screws that were provided. Instead, we used Titebond III Ultimate wood glue (Ace Hardware) to attach the bottom spindles to the base. We let it set for 24 hours. Seems to be working fine.
