I contacted the seller, and they told me their warranty was limited to deliveries in the US and thus they declined to replace it with a working item. eBay did take the item back but I lost on the return shipping cost and unfortunately, I will not be able to recover import charges (about 20% of what I paid in total) because to the extremely intransparent procedures of the Austrian Customs . The latter is, of course, no fault of the seller but still I lost money.
