Get more bang for your buck with the Nikon Speedlight SB-16 shoe mount flashes, which are compatible with all Nikon SLR cameras featuring an ISO flash shoe. The Nikon Speedlight SB-16A features the AS-8 flash unit coupler, which has a special mounting foot for the accessory shoe on the Nikon F3 camera. The Nikon Speedlight SB-16B features the AS-9 flash unit coupler with a standard ISO mounting foot. Either model of flash can be mounted to any type of Nikon camera model, either using another Nikon flash unit coupler or mounting directly to the camera, making the Speedlight series the ideal accessory in any serious photographer’s toolkit. This flash series features supported exposure controls that work in TTL-automatic, non-TTL automatic, and fully manual modes, and operates in four different settings so you can get the perfect shot every time. Using the non-TTL automatic mode, you can choose between two different apertures while the TTL-automatic mode automatically selects the appropriate aperture, providing correct light exposure based on the film speed you are using. In the manual setting, exposure must be calculated using the guide number on the flash. There is no need to change lens settings, or even lenses, when adjusting from the minimum aperture to any other aperture, allowing you to shoot your photos more quickly and easily. With the help of the multiple flash terminal, which allows light to bounce in various directions, you can virtually eliminating unwanted background darkening, the Nikon Speedlight SB-16 flashes are the ideal flashes for any true photographer. Because this bounce functionality is not automatic, you can choose when to engage it and when not to, giving you more control of the lighting in every photo you take. The zoom head is automatic so you do not have to waste time trying to get your subject in focus or switching your lenses, allowing you to snap pictures more quickly. Your pictures will come out perfectly lit so you can show off your photography skills through the picture’s composition. The lens coverage of the Nikon Speedlight SB-16 flash series can accommodate 28mm, 35mm, 50mm, and 85mm coverage angles, making these flashes extremely versatile. To achieve the best possible lighting, the flash head also swivels and tilts to illuminate your subject from a wide range of angles. Four easily replaceable AA batteries power this flash, eliminating unwieldy battery pack accessories. Additionally, this flash series is equipped with silicon-controlled rectifier and series circuitry, meaning it conserves energy during close-range photographing, prolonging the life of each battery. The flash also alerts you on your camera’s viewfinder when it is ready to be used following its recycle time, which is typically about 11 seconds in full manual mode, but generally faster in TTL-automatic mode. The flash head’s dimensions are 3.23 inches wide, 5.67 inches tall, and 3.94 inches deep, and it weighs less than a pound, which allows you to travel from location to location easily. Included with the flash is a diffuser panel, which cuts down on the harshness of direct sunlight. The Nikon Speedlight SB-16 flashes also feature a unique MD setting, allowing them to synchronize with cameras that are motor-driven, rather than automatic or manual, so you can shoot 4 frames per second.
