It needed to be since the USPS made an attempt to damage it during shipping. The external shipping box came with a major dent/crease in it. Because the seller used internal cardboard packaging and bubble wrap plus good internal clearances, the item came through the shipping process unscathed. I would buy from this seller again. A+!
