About this product
Product Information
This steamy thriller to end all steamy thrillers stars Michael Douglas as Nick, a boozy San Francisco police detective who finds himself drawn to the prime suspect in a murder case--manipulative, sexually uninhibited novelist Catherine Trammell (Sharon Stone). Catherine's latest book features a murder uncannily similar to the one Nick is investigating, and as the pair engage in a mating dance of dangerous one-upmanship, more murders occur, all described in her current work, about a boozy cop in love with a killer. Nick's psychiatrist (Jeanne Tripplehorn), and cop partner (George Dzundza) are both worried about him, and Catherine's jealous lesbian lover (Leilani Sarelle) may be trying to kill him, but Nick is just too turned on to care.Director Paul Verhoeven shows an admirable lack of restraint in this ludicrously enjoyable thriller, a sort of postmodern noir with Joe Eszterhas's script coming off like Mamet by way of Penthouse. Stone and Douglas exhibit fine chemistry (and most of their bodies), and there's some lovely Bay Area scenery courtesy of cinematographer Jan de Bont (who went on to direct films such as SPEED and TWISTER). Wayne Knight (Newman from SEINFELD) and Mitch Pileggi (Skinner from THE X-FILES) are precinct heads who question Catherine in the infamous leg-crossing scene.

- i***i (413)- Feedback left by buyer.Past 6 monthsVerified purchaseBought 2 games and both were packed fairly well. There could have been more space between the items, however, because one of the games arrived with some impact damage not depicted in the original images. The seller understood my concern and provided a partial refund as a result. Would buy from again! A+++ Seller
- a***e (2465)- Feedback left by buyer.Past monthVerified purchaseDvd 📀 Played flawlessly. Very pleased with purchase. Another great addition to my 3300+ dvd collection at a great price. Packed well, shipped fast and arrived in good condition as described in listing. Would buy from again without hesitation. A+ 5 🌟 seller. A definite asset to the eBay community and a real stress-free transaction. Always a pleasure to deal with a fair and honest seller.
- 2***2 (163)- Feedback left by buyer.Past 6 monthsVerified purchaseFast shipping (although packaging was poor--just the 1/32" thin layer of a plastic shipping envelope for protection; really? Did the world run out of bubble wrap, or do you simply just not care?) and product honorary of listing description and condition. Disappointed by the packaging--so, recognize that your product may not make it to you in due condition--otherwise, at least the products match the listing.Reply from: flicks2005- Feedback replied by seller flicks2005.- Feedback replied by seller flicks2005.Glad your package arrived safely if the post office is going to damage a package a little bubble wrap is not going to prevent that I prefer a FRAGILE sticker on the front of package letting them know to handle with careInstinct (DVD, 1999) Free Shipping Buy 2 Get 1 Free (#375922354900)
