The package was damaged in transit — a puncture low on one side — resulting in one of the mugs being broken into seven pieces. As the broken mug was the only one of the four for which I already had a duplicate, this turned out not to be a serious problem, but, yes, more and thicker bubble wrap could have been used after the initial thinner wrap was applied.
