Seller Notes: “This decanter is in nice clean condition. It has typical base wear that one would expect to find ... “This decanter is in nice clean condition. It has typical base wear that one would expect to find on a glass vessel that is closing in on 150 years old and it does have some nicks around the heavy thick base. One nick has a shallow fissure that feathers off into the open pontil. It is hard to imagine that it does not have something to do with the firing process and the snapping off the pontil rod. But we'll have to call it a crack for now. Otherwise that's about it, no problems besides this one area limited to the thick glass base. The glass stopper too is in fine condition and it is solid glass. The very bottom of it has the break from when it was broken off the blow pipe.”
