Synopsis
Sylvester and Mary Earl, a young married couple began their lives together with big dreams and high hopes for a bright future, all of which never came to fruition. They endure the ups and downs of married life, the heartbreak of burying one of their children and the hardships of life in general in the late 1800s. And were it not for the fact that this is a true story, this book would seem to be a work of fiction. But it is true and this is their story. D. Earl Gregg, a medical transcriptionist for many years, accidentally discovered the joy of writing when she wrote a biographical book for her father's side of the family several years ago. She has since written two additional historical fiction books. This is her fourth book. She lives with her husband, Terry in western North Carolina and enjoys playing the piano and keyboard, as well as reading and knitting. She is also known for her realistic colored pencil portraits of not only people, but pets and various animals as well. However, the real joy of her life is her grown children and grandchildren.
