I decided to keep the receiver because it does pick up air band and other bands very well. The receiver is very sensitive. I also like the recording capabilities and dual receiver modes. It is like having 2 receivers in 1 convenient package. Before purchasing an IC-R30, make certain the seller knows its capabilities. He communicated promptly, but not enough known info on radio.

Einziges Manko, das Gerät war auf Japanisch eingestellt und die vorgegebene Sprache ist ebenfalls Japanisch, ein Reset auf Werkseinstellungen hat nichts gebracht. Habe dann aber über die Anleitung herausgefunden, wie man die Sprache auf Englisch umstellen kann. Wäre schön gewesen, wenn es von vorn herein auf Englisch gestanden hätte, daher gibt's einen Punkt Abzug.
