Seller Notes: “This complete 4-volume edition is clean and tight within, some signatures being a little toned, ... “This complete 4-volume edition is clean and tight within, some signatures being a little toned, with some small bookplates and printed or hand-written ownerships of J. L. Shirreff on the front endpapers, along with some pencil notations in the first two volumes. There is a light 1.5" x 4" stain along the upper blank margin of pp. 385-392 of Vol. II, but most stains and soiling are relegated to the first and last few leaves of each volume. The bindings are period full calf leather with some staining and scuffing, bumped corners, lightly chipped spine ends and exterior hinges beginning to crack on Vols. I & III. The spine label appears to have been replaced on the fourth volume. Overall, a Good+ set of the First Complete Edition of Addison's writings.PLEASE NOTE: Prior to photographing, the binding of each volume was hand-rubbed with Preservation Solutions "Leather Rejuvenator" in order to aid in the set's longevity into the next century.”
