The letter was addressed to a Mr Shankland and reads thus 'Dear Mr. Shankland, many thanks for the excellent drawing and your good wishes. I am glad you enjoyed the TV programme and it was kind of you to write and tell me so. Yours sincerely, J B Priestley.”
