    Works. The firmware on the router was too low to be automatically updated so I had to remove it from the mesh, plug the router directly into an existing router, get it's IP address, access the router manually via that IP address (all WITHOUT adding it to the mesh), update the firmware manually (I got the firmware directly from netgear), and then re-add it to my mesh. After doing all of that it now shows up with the correct firmware and works fine.
