Blitzwing is one of the most iconic Decepticon characters from the original "Transformers" cartoon. While most Transformers turned into one vehicle to disguise themselves, Blitzwing turned into two. This triple changer has had numerous toys throughout the years. The Transformers Generations Blitzwing action figure released in 2012 is a celebration of the character's many forms. This Hasbro figure includes both nods to his cartoon iteration and the "Transformers Animated” cartoon series. Due to some small pieces, Hasbro recommends this action figure for fans ages 5 and up. Hasbro rates this figure's transformation difficulty at level 2, which is the intermediate level. This level means that while most children can transform the figure easily, younger children may need parental assistance. This figure transforms into either a tank or a jet in under 15 steps. The transformation is intuitive yet simple, letting users get back into the action quickly. Originally packaged with this figure is an instruction booklet that shows you how to transform this robot. The steps are easy to follow thanks to the large pictures. The plastic on this toy is both flexible and durable. It's designed to withstand some light bending during transformation. It is also resistant to water, meaning you can have fun playing with this toy outside. The high-quality plastic used for this toy ensures it won't break if you drop it. In robot mode, this figure features over 15 points of articulation. The toy's arms bend and swivel at the shoulders, elbows, and hands. This articulation allows Blitzwing to wield his weapons in a convincing manner. His head moves from left to right, letting him see any Transformer sneaking up on him. This Transformer also has articulation in his hips, knees, and feet. This articulation allows you to pose this Transformer in realistic poses. For example, you can use this articulation to have him running toward an Autobot. You can also pose this Transformer crouching in the shadows as it waits to pounce on Optimus Prime. This character comes with two weapons that will destroy any hero in its path. Its Energy Sword will make short work of any Transformer, including a hero like Optimus Prime. This sword uses two different shades of purple that give it a visual pop. The second weapon is a laser gun that is taken straight out of the Transformers Marvel comic. Like in the Marvel comic, this laser gun will make short work of any Autobot it comes across. This Transformer toy also has a play feature. Hidden within the helmet are two alternate heads. These alternate heads are an homage to the multiple personalities the character had in the "Transformers Animated" series. You can change the faces on this action figure by rotating the head downward. Both weapons that come with this toy can store on either vehicle mode. This action figure is still full of power even when its weapons are stored. In tank mode, you can insert one of the included missiles into the cannon. By pressing a button on the turret, you can fire the projectile up to 5 feet. In jet mode, the missile shoots out of the back of the action figure. This toy also has landing gear that you can use to display it on a bookshelf or cabinet when it's a jet.
