New Haven: Durrie & Peck. 1855 Edition in 2 Volumes. Half leather & marble boards. Marble endpapers and edges. Gilt spine, 5 bands. The History covers the years from the First Settlement of the Colony to the adoption of the present Constitution. Volume one has 508 pages and Volume two has 663 pages. Many engraved plates, maps, & appendixes.Condition: Used, Hardcover. Very Good. Half leather and marble boards with gilt decorations are in Very Fine condition with very minor shelf wear. The bindings are tight and the interior pages are unmarked. The plates are tissue-protected but there is moderate foxing to the pages on the view side and the blank backs. The books look terrific on the bookshelf. All copies online are in various states of disrepair and none are leather bound or with marbled papers.”
