Things that might be of interest to another buyer: the item smelled heavily of cigarette smoke which was probably from the environment it was in, since it was new I never thought to ask, and the wrapping materials smelled heavily musty which is probably just environment-specific. I washed the mug thoroughly and it is working as expected and those details won't affect my review but would have been more significant in another item.
