Reviews
The Observer - Faithfully rendered and extremely frightening., Daily Mail - If you want an entertaining period piece, you could do a lot worse than attend Robert Zemeckis' A CHRISTMAS CAROL., Empire - ItÆs always a good story, this time told more creepily than usual, Time Out - Cinematographer Robert Presley and the design team provide many instances of graphical triumph, influenced by silent cinema., Daily Mirror - A near-perfect blend of looks and heart., Daily Telegraph - [T]his revamp gets the eerie oppressiveness of London fog and MarleyÆs rattling chains just right
Additional Information
Writer/director Robert Zemeckis adapts Charles Dickens' classic festive tale A CHRISTMAS CAROL as a star vehicle for Jim Carrey in this performance capture/Disney Digital 3-D animated film for all ages. Carrey not only takes on the role of Ebenezer Scrooge, but all of the three ghosts who come to haunt him as well. The filmmaking process is in tune with the director's other animated outings, THE POLAR EXPRESS as well as the adult-themed BEOWULF adaptation. The fantastical morality play takes audiences on a thrill ride through Dickensian London, as it tells the story of grouchy Scrooge and his refusal to embrace the Christmas spirit. A midnight visit from the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Yet to Come show him the error his ways, both old and new; such as how his miserly existence affects those around him including his loyal clerk Bob Cratchit (GARY OLDMAN) and cheery nephew Fred (COLIN FIRTH). Bob Hoskins, Robin Wright Penn, Cary Elwes and Fionnula Flanagan also lend their voices in this spectacular adventure, that's guaranteed to chase the humbugs away.

- 6***e (836)- Feedback left by buyer.Past monthVerified purchaseThis is an extremely important Dictionary because Theravadan Buddhist books printed in English use the Pali word in many occasions, because there is no proper English equivalent. Whilst books have a glossary, or descriptive footnote, the Dictionary has superb word descriptions which can go into pages. Also the late Venerable Nyanatiloka Thera was a monk who properly understands the Dhamma. The book is in great condition, and very well priced.
