All of the mints suffered from quality control issues when it comes to the Lincoln Cents of the later 1940s and early 1950s. Money did not flow freely like it does now, and as such dies were overused and the coins often lackluster. This 1948S has a solid strike and decent luster, though short on the wow factor of a deep orange-copper cent. There are no spots nor stains, and it is a good coin given the time it comes from. Thank you to Gibraltar Coins and Precious Metals.
