It takes a bit of patience to get the spring right. (Not to mention pulling the shifter handle from the shifter. Some say you don't need to but I did so I could replace this button under good light on a table.) If you can, take pictures of the old know you are prying out so you can see the spring orientation. There is a YT video or two showing the process.
