State of Decay is an open-world role-playing Xbox game that pits a few ill-equipped survivors against a nation full of ravenous zombies. It's one of the few Microsoft Xbox One games that offer a truly chilling experience with a special focus on realism. Like the Xbox 360 version, this one requires its players to use scarce finite resources to survive as long as possible in an environment that tries to kill them around the clock. You receive a code to download the main game, and you also get two DLC add-ons to extend the adventure. As an added bonus, State of Decay: Year One Survival Edition comes with improved lighting, textures, and overall graphics. With the Xbox One version of State of Decay, you'll be able to play in crystal-clear 1080P resolution. It was developed by Microsoft Studios in conjunction with Undead Labs. Going online offers leaderboard updates and a selection of other unique features. When playing offline, one of the more intriguing aspects is that the world always remains the same. This feature makes State of Decay very unique compared to other games in the same genre. The game goes through day-night cycles. If you crash a car on one day, the car will still be in the same crashed spot the next. Similarly, any characters in your community that die in the game stay dead. In this type of open-world survivor gameplay, you must scavenge enough supplies and weapons to stay alive. Throughout the course of these games, you will be given missions that you need to complete. However, completing these missions against the numerous zombie infestations requires tactical maneuvering. With State of Decay by Undead Labs, you can choose when to roam from your hideout and when to stay put. Day and night gameplay are very different from one another. During the day, survival is possible given the ability to see further distances and scavenge more readily for supplies. At night, the dark makes for more intense encounters. Despite this increase in tension, completing missions can be easier given the poor eyesight of the in-game zombies. It's up to you to weigh the risk versus reward with this Xbox One game. The State of Decay: Year-One Survival Edition for Xbox offers up some fun additions. For example, the improved lighting and textures allow for better visibility. The UI has also been improved to provide you with easy management of your skills and items. As you progress through the story, you will be able to upgrade your character with new skills. These skills offer very different improvements, including everything from making you a better scavenger to making you a better shooter. The new content in State of Decay for Xbox One also includes a supply crate mission type. These missions task you with retrieving useful supply crates. Zombie hordes, however, stand between you and your goal. Over 25 new vehicles skins, several additional weapons, and new music composed by Jesper Kyd are included in this edition.
